Saint John Vacation Bible Camp is a unique and creative program based on Scripture themes that explore the richness of our Catholic faith. The program allows religious instruction to reach your child in a physically active way and promotes the value of Christian Community. Registration usually begins in late April or early May and is open to all parish children in Grades K-5. Children register for the grade level they are currently attending, not the one they will be entering after the summer months. This means that our youngest campers have already completed a year of kindergarten before their first year of camp. We do not offer a program for preschool children.
Parish children relish their memories of Bible Camp and look forward to it each year. Due to its popularity, it is important to register your child as soon as possible in order to ensure a spot. Camp registration information is mailed home to current Religious Education families along with their registration form for regular religious education classes. St. John School families are able to access Bible Camp registration forms through their School website as well as by clicking the link below. Registration forms are also available in the Parish Office, the back of the church, and in the Religious Education Office. Keep your eye on the parish Bulletin to find out when Camp will be taking place and exactly when registration will be available.
There is a Bible Camp registration fee that is due upon registration. Any camper dropping out before June 1st will be reimbursed their registration fee. Camp usually takes place from 8:45 am-12:30 pm across five weekdays in mid- July.
One of the blessings of the Bible Camp experience is that as our young campers grow up they become inspired to share their faith as volunteer leaders. High school age youth are encouraged to participate as leaders and of course we are always in need of enthusiastic adult volunteers. Fill out and turn in the volunteer information on the back of the Bible Camp Registration form or call the Religious Ed Office at (760) 436-0664 to volunteer.
